Christmas crowns were believed to ward off evil spirits and bring good luck and joy to the house for the coming year. All misfortunes are caught in the threads of Christmas knots, and the more of them you have for your home, the happier, more prosperous the New Year will be.
In Örreke’s workshop we will make Christmas decorations from golden reeds from Saaremaa using linen for tying and woollen yarn for decoration. Everyone can add their own Christmas decorations to the finished crafts. When making Christmas knots, you can use up all the yarn left in the cupboards. Old tennis balls will be given a new life as Christmas balls and clothespins as colorful tree decorations.
If you make the decorations together, you can combine them to make a particularly gorgeous and large room decoration, to which everyone has contributed.
