In the studio garden you can see ceramics and sculptures by our grandmother Ellinor Piipuu. She lived and worked here from 1955 to 2006 and was an acclaimed Estonian artist in his time, winning many awards both in Estonia and the then Soviet Union.
We share stories from her life and work – a time when standing out as an artist required both talent and courage.
In the second part of the visit, you will be treated to a creative workshop lasting around 45 minutes. Everyone can make a little memory by choosing one of the following activities:
Jewellery made of broken pieces of porcelain
Herbal mixture of Estonian herbs
Natural soap with Estonian herbs
Traditional Christmas decorations (seasonal)
The experience combines heritage and creation with your own hands.

The route to the market starts from the agreed point and follows quiet streets lined with historic private houses and gardens. Around 100 years ago, Nõmme was an independent town and owning property here meant prestige. During the walk, we will talk about the history of Nõmme and today’s life in this part of the city with a special atmosphere.
At Nõmme market we will get to know local flavours and raw ingredients. Stop at a legendary café for coffee and doughnuts.
After your walk, it’s easy to head back to the city centre – the train departs every 20 minutes from a nearby station. Taxis are also available on request.
A walk to the market can be combined with a visit to the studio and the ceramics garden before or after.
Available during the summer period May 15th – September 15th
